Martika's Triumphant Return

Forget about Madonna's latest desperate comeback - the real music event of 2012 is the return of fellow '80s pop legend Martika! After a twenty year hiatus, the glorious diva behind such classics as "Love... Thy Will Be Done" and "Toy Soldiers" is back with a stunning new single called "Flow With The Go". It's a quirky little tune that wouldn't sound out of place on her self-titled debut. I love the snippets of Spanish and think the chorus is a real grower. The ageless beauty wrote and produced the song with her husband, which perhaps accounts for its slightly organic sound. I can't wait for club remixes to drop because nightclubs will never be the same again once a whole new generation of gays discover the first Latina of pop! "Flow With The Go" should be up on iTunes as soon as tomorrow but you can preview the song below. Welcome back, Martika. You have been missed!!

It is in extreme bad taste to spout the positivity of one artist while simultaneously bashing another. Madonna did not become the # 1 selling female rock artist of the 20th century and the # 1 solo artist in the history of the Billboard charts by sheer dumb luck. I am very excited for Martika's return but won't throw another artist off the cliff in the process of the celebration.

To Anonymous #1, I am sure the Madonna dig was tounge-in-cheek. If you've read this blog before, you'd have realized that. Other than that I could care less if every female singer ever did a collaboration single, THIS is best thing to happen to music in years for me! ¡viva MARTIKA!

A month long wait after it was 'released' and it's complete shit. And everybody fucking knows it, it's pathetic how people want to pretend it isn't just because they're hanging onto their old love of her. Sad.
