Dannii Is The Greatest Dancer!

It seems appropriate to begin Dannii-fest with Dannii's latest in a long line of cancelled releases. Dannii is getting something of a reputation for cancelling singles (and albums for that matter), which has not been lost on her fanbase (see picture below - thanks Jay!). "He's The Greatest Dancer" was recorded with the Children In Need charity in mind. The planned fourth single from "The Hits & Beyond" was scrapped to make way for it and remixes of "He's The Greatest dancer" were commissioned instead. Unfortunately, some idiot decided it would be better to go with Panhead Bunton's disgraceful cover of Petula Clark's "Downtown". It goes without saying that Dannii's offering is infinitely superior!

"He's The Greatest Dancer" is no masterpiece but it is a hell of a lot of fun and I'm sure that Sister Sledge would be most proud of Dannii's craptastic cover version! The song recently became Dannii's 11th number 1 UK club hit, making Dannii the undisputed queen of dance. As far as I know, there are no plans to release the song commercially, which is a shame. I can only imagine how tragic the video would be! I have uploaded the entire "He's The Greatest Dancer" promo with thanks to Tommie.

Poor Poor Dannii! both Mary Cherry and myself voted this as the best thing of 2006 that never happened(along with that latoya "single").

One first glance(when this first leaked) i can see/hear why the record company/BBC went with something else. Its pretty tepid.

But then on second hearing it suddenly worked. Its a shame those at BBC/Record Company didnt play it twice because it woulda all made sense. The same thing happened to me and Rachel Stevens. Hated it all at first and then....WOW!

Personally i think Dannii should have recorded Lost In Music. Perhaps her next album should be a discoglam covers album?

I think it all went wrong when Dannii released Don't Wanna Lose this Feeling over Mighty Fine. Its certainly a must for the Should-a-been-a-single files now underway on http://youcallthatlife.blogspot.com/

I love He's The Greatest Dancer - it was another #27 hit that went begging!

I think Dannii's career went off course when she joined AATW and changed her sound. That said, I love everything on The Hits & Beyond with one glaring exception!

This cannot have effect in actual fact, that's what I think.
